Hello, I'm Claire.
Imelda is our cat. She has white paws and is named after Imelda Marcos, who was rather fond of shoes. I thought this was an excellent name for a cat, and an even better name for a blog.
I'm a maker of things, a collector of ideas and a person who can lose a frankly ridiculous amount of time going down rabbit holes on the internet.
Over the years, this has resulted in various blogs and creative projects, some more peculiar than others. They don't necessarily have much in common, except that they're mine and I seem to have a fondness for the odd, the absurd and things that make me wonder what on earth someone was thinking.
Pekuliar Piktures is where I collect strange, wonderful and genuinely sourced images from the past.
Nether Fenning Parish Council is a fictional village where local bureaucracy meets spectacular incompetence, and everyone takes it all terribly seriously.
Middle Woe is a medieval village with its own parish bureaucracy, petty disputes and administrative nonsense. Same instinct, different century, worse drainage.
You'll find links to all three here, along with the occasional post about what I'm working on, what I've discovered, what I've changed my mind about, or whatever else has taken my fancy.
There's no particular theme, schedule or grand plan.
Imelda, naturally, remains entirely unbothered, except for when I say the word "Treats", and then she one very interested cat.
Thanks for stopping by.
Claire
